Öztalay Family

Grandma’s Farm is located on a land that is owned by Öztalay Family for over
200 years; formerly known as Süleyman Bey farm when it was measured over 300 000 square meters. As the time goes by, the land has gotten smaller because of inheritances. At the present time the farm is owned by Ali Haydar Öztalay and his wife Fatma Hakime Öztalay.

Ali Haydar Öztalay was a Turkish Navy Officer and served as a commander of
war ship during the World War I, he then became a teacher at Navy Academy
thereafter. After the World War II, he left the Navy and became the Mayor of
Izmit City Hall.

Today, Öztalay family is consisting of son Ali Yilmaz Öztalay and his wife Ayse Gülen; Daughter Fatma Esin Öztalay; grand children Ayse Cimen Yüksel and her husband Deniz Yüksel; Haydar Melih Öztalay and Fehmi Selim Öztalay.

For many years, the place was used as a farm. In 1998 Cimen and Deniz Yüksel have proposed an idea of building a recreational area within the farm. This idea was accepted by the other members of the family and planned

to build different old style Turkish houses consistent of 4 homes with different Turkish architecture and one house with 2 stories for social events. At the center of the area, there is a large swimming pool for the guests. The facility was opened for operation in March 2000 and initially hosted foreign factory managers of Ford Otosan, Knauf, Good Year and Hyundai etc.

We can make arrangement for private parties and provide rural breakfast, brunch during weekdays and week-ends with advance reservation. Beside the above services, it is possible to stay over nights or on week-ends within
